This was made by my dad last year, I imagine it's been put to good use, though I don't look too closely!

Its funny seeing this. Last week I saw one like this selling for £12 I wasen't going to pay that!! So I asked my dad to make it for me. Is it a home for ladybirds and lacewings? Mine will be, got something similar for bees as well.

My dad has made loads of bird boxes, insect havens etc including a butterfly box, not sure if they are being used though, as a bit wary of disturbing anything. I agree with you Great about not paying garden centre prices, they are actually quite easy to make for next to nothing.
