Oh how lovely is this....Mine got frost-damaged Andrew...eventhough i tucked it away in a corner and wrapped fleece around it....:<(

that is stunning! did you see gardeners world? they were re potting a camellia, think i might try that they need acid soil dont they?

SK - yes, an acid soil plus shelter from frosts and early morning sun (both of which will damage the flowers). If they are dry at the root, they will either set no flower buds or drop the ones they have formed. You could grow one in a large pot of ericaceous compost and use either rainwater or cold tea to water it

might give that a go Andrew as they flower so early be nice to see such beautiful flowers this time of year.
