looks like a hare bell from a distance. syn Sisyrinchium douglasii.

it looks like the small blue flowered sisyrinchium 'e k balls' [?] until the flower opens. I couldnt get it to stop waving in the wind. hence the slight blurr.

I have just put one on seaburngirl, wondering if it is hardy outside. Just seen your pics & I think answered my queery, it is outside isn't it? I bought mine at an alpine show & didn't know anything about it & didn't ask.

yes it is outside and has been for many years. It hasnt minded the horrendous weather this winter either.
