My old plant died after ten years (about the average life expectancy for a daphne). I have planted a white-flowered form now instead of the pink

I never realised they were short lived.....but it does explain why you never see a really big one. I'm wondering if the life expectancy could be extended by piling soil up around the base in the hope it layers.
