Tropaeolum majus - Nasturtium Blooming on Shelter Island

Nasturtium grows wild everywhere in San Diego, CA. in winter. They have been blooming since January with all the rains. In another month or so they will all die back until next winter. Photo taken March 24, 2010.

Yes, they grow wild on the sides of mesas and many other areas...blooming in winter with the rains. By May most will have died out because our wet season usually ends here in March...and usually no rain until around December...if we're lucky.
