Macarthur Palm is a gorgeous clustering palm from Northern Australia and New Guinea. Unfortunately, the Banyan tree was blocking the light for a good pic. Photo taken March 25, 2010.

This one unfortunately cannot tolerate the Bay Area temps. It's very, very tropical. P. elegans would be better in a very, very protected spot. Even in a protected spot the leaves would most likely get cold spots every winter.

Is this bay areable?
At Southland mall they have two- indoors- beautiful, about 12-15' total?..something like that. They don't carry many fronds at a time- but the ones it had were a good 6' including petioles.
