thanks it certainly looks better with all the dead plants out LOL. The trellis is to stop the next door dogs jumping up and taking my clematis with them :).

yes DD, Acacia purpurea, Eryngium 'Bowles Mauve', a Correa Marians Marvel all died, I also had a rather tatty looking Ceonothus that wasn't really evergreen and really needed to come out, so I used the opportunity to completely redo it and put hardier shrubs and climbers in

Oh dear Grindle, shame about the Acacia though, our evergreen Ceanothus is looking tatty, apparently they are not long lived plants.....

Oh well it was an opportunity to plant something new, so there was an up side :))))
