just look at the lean on the birdhouse! foreground to background...Siberian Cypress, just turning green again, Colorando Blue Spruce, Arborvitae, goldenthread arborvitae, and a Serbian Spruce.

Thanks David! this is the time of year I appreciate the evergreens (trees and shrubs) The Siberian Cypress is a fantastic ground cover evergreen. It spreads ever farther every season and is a lush green in summer and turns a beautiful bronze red in winter. My garden looks very barren in this picture...but we've had two days of very warms temps since and all the perennials are jumping out of the ground.

Read elsewhere about your warm temps (lucky you, lol!). Can feeel a slight warmth in the sun here, but only 9C daytime. Still, the summer bulbs are showing leaf now, so I guess it is what they are used to! Despite the blizzards and gales last week, too! Don't think this looks barren! As you say, the evergreens" come into their own" at this time. :-))
