But any idea what it is, Flori?

Just had a quick look up in my book for you Wagger, could it be Euphorbia x Martinii? It says,it has red-tinged shoots from Spring to mid-Summer above lance-shaped, mid-green leaves that are often tinged purple when young. It should bear yellow-green flowers with very distinctive dark red nectar glands. Is that any help to you??? :~))

No - isn't that more like wulfenii? This is much smaller. My next guess is Euphorbia amygdaloides 'Purpurea' - what do you reckon?

You could be right Wagger, just had a look in the A-Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants, there's no picture but description sounds very similar........:~))
