very pure white, lovely! B...I heard that a local nursery was in trouble so I went out there today and bought 2 more silver birches!! lol.....:)) I managed to also keep 'Crocus' in business. They sent me three clems, a kirengeshoma and a teucrium today! We also dug out a small border in the front, so there will be more purchases over the weekend....a nice little local nursery in Arbroath this time I think! :)) Just as well I have no other vices!!

Wey-hey! Go girl! I planted a Kirengeshoma last autumn - I haven't seen it appear yet. I hope it does. :-((

I had one in my last garden - they don't really get going until mid summer so I'm sure you will see it then! Lovely plants!

Thanks...that cheers me up! I saw it in an open garden, and 'had' to have one - you know that feeling, don't you.

Erm.....can't think what you mean! ha ha.....by the way, my salvia verticillata is growing!! hurray! it has survived!

Oh that IS good, Karen! :-))) I had one left out of three, and a tiny little shoot - but a cat scratched up the shoot. I have ordered two more - they should arrive next week, I can't do without them!

I'm going to have a go at propogating it this year B. I need to decide what's the best way though - perhaps some basal cuttings...need to consult with Carol Klein!!
17 Apr, 2010
I'll look in my RHS Propagation book, it might tell us how.
OK - split the plant, take basal cuttings, or collect seed! Lots of ways. :-))
I found a whole lot of seedlings last year and potted them up - but of course I sold them on the plant stall....

Oh, thanks! Well, I don't think I'll risk splitting it, but I will try to get some basal cuttings and I will collect some seed! Sounds easy enough! That's exactly what I would have done B...sold them all and left none for myself! I feel you and I have quite a lot in common! lol x

I found a tiny one left so I've potted that up and it's getting LOTS of TLC......Fimgers crossed! Why didn't they seed themselves this year when I needed them? One of the imponderables of life, I suppose.
