Thanks terratoonie, yes it was quite young then, it doesnt look like it has many buds this year, i will have to wait and see, might move it as changing this border this year and extending it further to the end of the garden

Some shrubs do seem to be acting differently after the very cold winter... more buds, less buds... Lol.

it looks lovely, I like how everything fits so nicely around each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks shinobi, i do want to do quite a few changes in the garden though including this border, i would like a bit more height to cover the fencing
