I purchased the original Congo Impatiens around 20 years ago. They only grow well about 2 or 3 years then have to be cut into pieces for cuttings. This plant started blooming more than a month ago...and had more flowers until yesterday morning's very unusual heavy rains washed most flowers off. Photo taken Apr. 13, 2010.

GT:
Congo Impatiens are available for sale here sometimes...however, not as common as many others.
Meanie:
When it's big with many flowers...it looks like a bunch of parrot beaks.

Where can I obtain a parrot plant, mine appears to be dying. Would love to replace it. Can I get one from any Garden Centre, does anyone know?

That bloom is very unusual. Rare one indeed.
