And now OH tells me they work when the tide is going out, often followed around by Sandlings who try to take the food foraged by the Oystercatcher. Oh yes, my OH is full of sea bird info. ... yawn !

Thanks all and Yes Toto....I did manage to keep him awake to do the walk 5 miles each way........Megan I didnt know that about Oyster Catches, so thank OH for me..... lol...
