Primula 'Francisca'

Primula 'Francisca' (Primula)

I'm not entirely sure about this one - unusual, yes. Pretty? Not sure yet. Maybe she'll 'grow on me'.

Never seen one like it.......

25 Apr, 2010

No - it was at the 'Rare Plants Fair'....and my island bed colour theme was in my mind...but I'm still not sure about it.

Its a very 'subtle' colour. I like it, but I think it would be hard to place unless amongst green plants....unusual though and I bet it attracts many comments.

Not yet - nobody's seen it except me. The colour scheme in the island bed is white, cream, lime green and burgundy. I hope it's in flower in June, still...it only started opening today.

I like it but then I have a very unusual taste in plants and colours.....

25 Apr, 2010

Well, I do too - I'll have to spend some time with 'Fransisca' and get to know her better. :-)))

26 Apr, 2010

That sounds like a lovely colour scheme that would take this plant very well. I bet it is quite something. Are you opening your garden in June B?

26 Apr, 2010

Yes indeedy. 3rd and 10th June - and also on the 9th, as we had a letter from a group who host New Zealanders, and we're opening the garden specially. I don't do 'by appointment' normally, but as this one is 40 people and is the day before the 'pro' day, the garden will be ready...i hope!

26 Apr, 2010

That sounds great! I hope it all goes well, sure it will.

26 Apr, 2010

I think I like her. :-))

26 Apr, 2010

Hmmm...Let me think about it for a sec. ..Yes, so do I! ;-))))

Will we have the pleasure of your company this year again, David?

26 Apr, 2010

What? all the way from Fife? Now that's keen!!

26 Apr, 2010

I really want to come and see your lovely garden, depends whether we can get the family to look after ours, whilst we are visiting yours.....lol

26 Apr, 2010

Oh, do ask them, Dd! That would be great! :-))

26 Apr, 2010

:(( wish I could come ;

27 Apr, 2010

A short break in the West Country would do you the world of good, Karen! ;-)))

27 Apr, 2010

You're not wrong there Barbara!

27 Apr, 2010

Work on OH, then!!! :-)) I'll recommend a good B&B for you (both)?????

27 Apr, 2010

Don't hold your breath B!! He'd rather go to Barcelona or somewhere else foreign! I'm quietly planning a solo tour of English gardens......I'll have to work on him though!

27 Apr, 2010

I'll be there on the 10th, i met David there last year, Karen !

27 Apr, 2010

.....mmmm.....(thinks)....mmm.....

27 Apr, 2010

The West Country is definitely 'foreign' Karen - the Summerzett folk talk different - once they get going, it's a foreign language! We have sandy beaches and cream teas...and an open garden with verrrryyyyy nice people in it..........:-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

27 Apr, 2010

You should get a job working for the tourist board Barbara!!

27 Apr, 2010

Too busy being an unpaid labourer, Karen! lol.

27 Apr, 2010

Did someone mention cream teas?

27 Apr, 2010

Yes, the WI come and do that side of it for me. :-))

28 Apr, 2010

That is very handy for you......

29 Apr, 2010

Well - it makes it a community effort, and neighbours come to help as well. I found that I was needed to answer questions all the time!

29 Apr, 2010

Lucky you, as you say frees you up for interrogation lol

2 May, 2010

And that's what it was, Dd! Question after question - and nice comments as well. :-)))

2 May, 2010

Not heard of it but I like it. If it doesn't grow on you, it would be most welcome in Bucks!

2 May, 2010

LOL. I think it's staying where it is! :-))) If it's still in flower in June, it'll be a conversation piece, won't it!
