The orange leaf bud cases are fluttering about just l day after this photo was taken. Shade on its way

Ditto...the huge sycamore overlooking our garden from the churchyard just seems to get bigger by the year !!

they do. The top of the tree hits the skyline t different places on the hillside. [does that make sense?] I know what I mean.

Yes...know what you mean...depends what angle you are looking at it from ! Talking of sycamores...the amount of seedlings had to remove this year was phenomenal..they appeared everywhere..and still are doing..in every crevice and crack as well as in the borders !

you are so right about the seedlings. we have had hundreds all over. not helped by the squirrels burying them. grrr

Theory is that the wings were buried under that sudden snow...for a couple of months...didnt disperse..then took off a few weeks ago ! Dont know if that makes sense !!!!

the seeds landed in vast numbers back in september and I wonder if the chilling of the snow helped the gerination. some plants as you will know need cold to get them to germinate. I have a lot more cowslip seedlings too.
