They are extremely hardy plants which go dormant most of the year...then in February they start to grow and bloom until around June...then back into their dormancy.

such a lovely plant.....ive had one survive in my garden for years....its growing out of a crack in a rocky bank...

Yes, one of our prettiest native flowering plants next to Fremontia californica! They grow/bloom wild everywhere in winter to very early summer.
