when you say deep do you mean how deep the roots? its in a 6" deep pot and the roots are just down to the bottom. so it wont go much further from what I can gather but it moves 'sideways' as it clumps. [only £5 too]

I have one of these too, mines called 'Emerald Arch', bought it from Malvern a couple of years ago grown into a good size plant, the one on the display was huge and covered in purple berries, looked stunning, no flowers or berries on mine yet but growing well :-)

sorry sanbaz its not a pond plant. i just took the photo of the plant on the pond wall. Its just the right height so i dont have to get down on my knees. :o) It is a plant for one of the shady borders as it doesnt seem to be fussy sun/part shade according to the label.

That sounds a nice plant simbad. I will keep my eye out for it too.

it has lovely red colouration towards the bottom of the clump. Dare I ask how much they are going for?
I have been revamping a part under the beech tree today and it has gone in there as it will get the morning sun on the stems.

Seaburn, yes Spritz and i went to the Malvern show, we met with Bornagain and Floribunda, we also met Vicky on her exhibitors stand :-))
I can't remember how much the Dianella was, it wasn't a lot though - it was however, a mere fraction of the size of yours.
