I've never had one that has lasted from one year to the next Sandra I'm hoping I can keep this one because it is nice .. .... every time I go into poundland I buy another one of those little fleece plant jackets for the winter , I should have several by the time they are needed .... not much good for this kind of plant but for others they will be .. :o))

Thanks Toto , I was wondering if you cut them down when they have finished flowering will they come again this year ?

I'm sorry Amy, I don't know. I have a few Verbascum's but I let them flower and seed if they want to but I don't know any more. I'm sure other GOY members will be able to answer your question.

I love the flowers on the hybrid verbascums.... I have a var. called V. "Sixteen Candles" and it's gorgeous... yellow, white and mauvy pink... Love this white, Amy!

Thanks Lori ...' Sixteen Candles ' sounds fabulous I will be keeping my eyes open for that .. :o))

I have a pic of "Sixteen Candles" on my pages, Amy!... I have the tall V. thapsus growing beside it...but the thapsus is biennial...it will not sprout and bloom this year...just the lovely silver gray rosette of furry leaves! The V. thapsus will branch and look like tall candlearbra.... 8 to 10 ft tall in some cases...They are extremely drought tolerant too.

Thanks Lori I will go off and have a look :o) wow 8-10 ft tall ...

Oh, you managed to get a white one Amy! I remember you said you liked the white ones and about 6 weeks ago I carefully dug round the white one in my garden. Pull, tug and out it came with no roots! Needless to say I didn't send you it!..Lol
