This slow worm was so cold he'd stopped moving so took him to the warmth of the compost heap.

Well done. He would probably have been ok unless of course a cat or crow got him. I'm glad that he is safe now.

He/She probably came from the compost heap in the first place, they love

Toto did a great line in compost bin slow worms last year - whole family of them together.

I had to tell them to move out as I needed somewhere to sleep but they ignored me and are still there which in the end turned out for the best as they make great bed companions.
