Thanks Sixpence and PP ... Autumn is a great time for the wattles here. Spring on the other hand, is not a great time out in the bushland at all!

What a shame you don't have a spring like we do.

Sixpence ... you would have to go down a lot further south ... down to Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia to get a Spring like you get over there ... and you'd see a lot of the same springtime blooms. Up here there's really only the Summer and the 'Rest of The Year - that's slightly cooler than Summer'!!! Lol!

You never know Bernieh you might get it yet with all this climate change, while we are getting hot weather this weekend, Greece is freezing cold.

Lol, Sixpence ... I wouldn't mind it getting colder here .. would love to grow tulips and daffodils! But I think I'd lose my hubbie ... he absolutely positively hates the cold. As a matter of fact, he's already complaining that the nights are getting too cool!!!

Funny how some feel the cold more than others, my mum was like that, so am I, it needs to be really warm for me to take a coat off. Tell him to get fleeces to put on, then you can have your tulips and daffodils lol.

Huh ... he's a dyed-in-the-wool North Queenslander ... he even hated living in Brisbane which is southern Queensland!! He froze down there in the winter!!! Stuff and nonsense, of course ... which we found out when we finally experienced the cold of the snow-covered mountains further down south in Victoria during Winter. Then ... he really did freeze!

What a pretty wattle collage! We have wattles in the bush here too, I love looking around at the bush and seeing splashed of sunny yellow in the green and brown! :o)

We're lucky here too Pip as we're surrounded by bushland full of little Acacias and Eucalypts ... right now there's still some Eucalyptus trees in bloom.

Do you have bats, bats, noisy bats?
12 Aug, 2010
No ... we don't get many bats around here. We're up in the foothills luckily ... because there's lots of bat down on the flats in our suburb ... mainly because there are so many acreages down there with mango trees!!! During the summer you can see massive colonies of bats flying in to feed on dusk!!! They're just not interested in coming up here.
