Maybe not the showiest of the perennial geraniums, but it can't be beaten for under trees and in dry shade. The first flush of its wine dark flowers against the fresh foliage with their chocolate splashes does make me feel Summer is on its way.

Very attractive, Robert especially with the leaves echoing the flower colour. Am going to look for it for my shady area.

Nice photo. I love this geranium too. They bloom heavily and for a long time if regularly deadheaded, and blooms in dry shade, not many plants out there that will produce for you under these conditions. It's a great addition to anyone's shade garden.!
