Thanks, all. Daylily, I missed out the vulgaris bit - it's Aquilegia vulgaris v. Stellata in full! Touchwood Aquilegias (NCCPG collection) describe it as 'stellata forms star forms, also known, most descriptively, as ‘clematis-flowered’. Strange: the usual intricate flower form has mutated into a flattened structure',
