A pretty delicate flower - love the curled up petals ... that bug looks quite at home too !!!

I've had this clem for years... the name tag got switched and I thought I had Duchess of Edinburgh...until it bloomed...then I knew I had something else but could not find a picture of it til recently... goY friends to the rescue...It's nice to finally know the name of this var. after all this time.

I somehow can never be bothered with the names of plants, as it just doesn't seem to be important for me - I either like it or not !!! Ooops, I'll probably get my knuckles rapped for saying that !

LOL... any censure will not come from me, T60. I understand completely..
there are so many places on the web to find out exactly which clematis a person has... same with irises and orchids, etc. etc. ... for each of us who is casual about our plant identities it seems there are thousands who delight in knowing exactly which plant they are growing... I now have six different clematis in my garden or in pots on my deck...and six is a paltry sum compared to some here on goY...but I like to know just which one is doing what...and when...the var. name helps a lot there. I'd like to know the variety of campanula that blooms on your patio every May...I have three var.s of campanula and would love to find the exact plant that you have.

I honestly wouldn't know what kind of campanula it is Lori - it just happened and started off as a teeny teeny clump in the wall, probably left there by a bird and has expanded in the cement over the years. This is where a GOY expert would be useful, as I have posted a couple of close ups of the flower ... I admit it is rather pretty ..

No knuckle rapping from me either Terry! I have that sort of a brain - like to know the names. I especially like the latin names of plants, but then I like languages...we are not all the same are we?!! :)))

o:) Karen. I suppose I'm lucky in having a head start, as most of the Italian common names of plants are similar to the fancy Latin version !!!!

Ah yes, of course Terry, that would be so! :)

Campanula isophylla perhaps? Only because it came through the nursery this spring. I'm not being smarty pants....lol. :-)

You work in a nursery so you can talk the talk...and walk the walk! lol. I'm going to look up that campanula...because I really, really do want some of it.
