The chokecherries are everywhere and the crabapples poked in here and there like frosted cakes. We are a river town, so all along are sights like this. Sadly, the heat has already expired the spring blossoms.

This is really very beautiful. I'm amazed at it being so warm with you!

TY. :-) It is warmer this season than most, already a bit too hot for me. Once the snow melts there is already no night and we warm right up. The interior of Alaska, here, is the warmest in the state. Growing season is like a race.

Looks stunning Gt....and no night...is it like dusk through the night? How do the plants fare? Do local animals sleep still? I've often wondered how it would be so far North in the summer.........

TY. Sunset goes about 1 1/2 hours dusk from 1-3 and then sunrise for another hour. The birds do change to night song and the owls come out. I think the animals just pretend it is still night and day. Plant grow very quickly and often bigger due to the light spectrum we get. All yellow and green, no red or purples, its more gentle and stimulates green growth. Red and purples are used most in grow lights, they are more normal for plant growth. I can put part sun stuff out in the open, only danger is late afternoon sun can be very hot. I have all east so 8 hours sun is shade to part sun plants. Fun to garden.

That's really interesting.....it sounds to be a fantastic place for the summer...no wonder you love it, and to be able to see Owls and night animals in half light, you'd get some great pics.........just the winter.......:o((

Winter is beautiful. Just very, very different. ;-)

If you're all geared up for it Gt......it probably is better than ours....damp dark, grey and cold for such a long time...you really feel like you could use a can opener to take the lid off...Lol!

I do prefer the hard dry cold to chilly damp. And the world gets so silent and crystalline here. I've lived on the US west coast for winter and that was soooooo cold to me, penetrating damp cold. I know what your saying with the can opener.
