Oh that's OK Karen (I.m not sure even of the difference between a frog and a toad-maybe a toad is larger) :-)

Yes, toads are larger and have knobbly warty skin...that much I do know! :)

They have dry skin where as frogs have wet skin.

they are all frogs richard, longer toes on frogs and like karen said toads are warty backs and dont go in water the same, seem to like dry places more

the markings dont distinguish male or female, the females are larger cause need more space for eggs, male is smaller, also males get bigger thumbs and rough black markings on hands as to grip female when mating, only males croak to attract females but both sound out if distressed, also male throat sack is darker at breeding times, thats about it ;o))

Thanks for that Sandra I'll try and remember that or better still save it in notepad. It sounds as though you have been studying them at your pond. Do you have any frogs in your pond now and do you have plans on getting any freshwater fish? :-)

richard ive been reading up a bit on net, i have 6 new goldfish, 3 pairs of different colours, my snails are doing ok to, and i have a froggy, all good ;o))
