I have quite a dark pinky/red that flowers a bit later Amy 'Firetail' love it spreads around but not too rampant, my dad gave me it years ago, grows to around 4ft.

Yes do like it moist don't they, mines in the wood, seems to like it, probably not a woodland plant but what the heck looks nice :-)

If the plants happy, that's the main thing. I think you just have to try them in different places sometimes. Im thinking of putting grape hyacinths amongst the grass and trees as they flower quite early to give a bluebell effect, worth a try.

I bought one at the weekend at an open garden day Kathy , it hasn't a name on it and there isn't a flower , I shall have to wait to see it next year .. :o)

Oooh lovely Amy be interesting to see which it is,never know may be a later flowering one, have a lovely one with dark blotches on the leaf can't remember the name now, bought it from Malvern a couple of years ago and one called pink elephant, love them.

I've planted it where the hosta are so that we should have some nice spikes of colour amongst them ...

I didn't use to like this , I thought it was like a wild dock ,, but it has grown on me it looks very nice in large groups ... I saw a very dark red one somewhere it was stunning !
