They usually nest in a dead branch on an old ash tree in the corner of our plot so they fly around all the time and chatter away but not often they land on the ground. We have ants along the side of the drive which is their staple diet apparently.
Kathy: They're quite a big bird, about the size of a slim wood pigeon

A couple of years ago the 2 young ones came down with their mum too :-)

Lovely photo you must have been quick off the mark with the camera, I usually see these things and don't have the camera to hand.
