I'm not an expert on cuckoo Dawn but ask your question and if I can't answer it I'm sure that Bonkers will be able to.

I'm so pleased for you Dawn , I saw a tiny reed warbler feeding a Cuckoo once , I know that it only takes 12 1/2 days for an egg to hatch out .. not much help , sorry ......

Seeing a poor little reed warbler feed a cuckoo must have been a sight Amy. I've put a blog on our sister site I Spy A Bird - just that we've had them calling since April and see three of them flying around making weird calls, I was wondering if they're breeding again. I've never seen them before until this year, only heard them.
