Or Kolkwitzia, they are very similar.

yes they are very similar vincent ive have look at Kolkitzia, but i would need a Kolkitzia bush to tell them apart, but no room for one. We still think that ours is Dipelta because of the middle of the flower. Im not saying we are right though.Thanks for the interest that you have shown.much appreciated.

I will upload a photo of Kolkwitzia when I get my computer sorted out to take photos again. I have not seen Dipelta in the flesh, so it is difficult to compare.
It is great that people take the time to label (or question) the correct names of plants. I am a bit of a geek on this one. (keeps me off the streets)

Is this Dipelta michelle ? it is exactly like mine,not seen anyone else with this shrub on Goy its an usual one and an old species, lots of people mix it up with wiegelia.
