For once I managed to click the shutter at the right moment. Has a lovely furry jacket on.

Well done, Dorjac, a brilliant photo. I've taken a few like this but none as clear as yours. Great shot.

I was really surprised when it was in the picture!! Usually they are a blur, or gone before picture taken. Is Hoppity still around, I wondered? Our lady blackbird has vanished like Hoppity did last year.

I haven't seen Hoppity around for a few days and wonder if she is nesting again. Her partner is certainly around and flies off with a beakful of food :)

I'm worried about our lady blackbird now. Calico cat is lurking a lot and doesn't break cover any more when I go in the garden. I saw a calico tail sliding under the day lillies, very near me, when I was on bindweed patrol. She forgot she had a tail when she slunk further into the undergrowth.......crafty old cat. I think she fed her addiction a few days ago......oh dear.

I've just read that the adult birds go into moult at this time of year and hide themselves away for safety. Hope this is the case with your blackbird, Dorjac - fingers crossed.
