Veggie garden doing well, all that rain last week has made it grow fast

We ate the last of our 'little gem' lettuces yesterday. They were fab. Lovely tight hearts that tasted so sweet and the slugs couldn't get at them! Need to sow some more! Just sowed some more spinach as it had all gone to seed. Chicory is also bolting.....too warm for salads now! Carrots have just germinated and I just ate 3 courgettes for my lunch...lightly sauteed...sprinkling of pecorino romano on top....yum!

Not had any courgettes yet, only just flowering, but everything seems to be later down here. It was very cold and wet last week, warmer this week, cloudy today. Hope it keeps fine for the cricket this weekend, on my own doing teas, Sarah and Sam in Liverpool on one of our friends hen nights.
TOP OF THE LEAGUE first team are oh YES, still love my cricket. Footy tonight, think we will be naughty and cheat and have take-away for tea.

Roses are looking good in new border, Port sunlight creamy gold colour, just opening, other two are full of buds, can't wait to see them.

Port Sunlight is a beauty. I have Pat Austin...similar..ish. My cougettes are a total cheat! I started them from seed in february! Just germinated some more so I can keep eating them until the autumn!

Good news a bout the team...well done...whoever it is!! What team do you follow these days? Is it Everton?

Blimey....Liverpool....hope they survive! Hope you survive solo teas too!! :))

Footie.....sigh.....Wimbledon next week.....HURRAY!! Have to buy another bottle of Pimms this weekend in preparation!
