These were brought presumably,by our little feathered friends, last year,so replanted them in front of the Clematis.

Its the same one Carole "Elsa Spath".but more faded now than the previous pic on 9th june.Just wish it showed up as its true colour, more purple toned.I think it must be the lighter colouring on some of the petals, that make it appear more blue.

Sometimes Sandra its the the sunlight gives a more deeper or lighter depth to the colour of the plant!

I think you are right Carole,as it is quite a sunny position there..

It is strange isn't it, how hard it is to photograph colours, they're never quite the same with my camera and I find yellow seems to bounce light off. Need a better camera, but it will have to do:-)

I know exactly how you feel, Bornagain, any blue/mauve/purple flower never shows up as 'true to colour' on my cheap camera, borrowed from daughter until I buy another ! Oh well, birthday in August, have to hang on with the current one until then !

I don't think it makes a lot of difference,Bornagain, and Shirley, but do think I probably took them when it was too bright.I tried to do a rosebud, just opened yesterday, but it was rubbish,so I am going to wait till evening now,as the light is still there, but not bright..
Carole,I hadn't thought of that, but you are probably right,...thanks for the tip.

Maybe we need to use those big hoody things they used with the old tripod cameras in black and white films....or what about a sort of four sided blind contraption held in front of camera to prevent too much light getting to lense? I'm going to make one from cardboard, about 6 inches deep and see if that works, almost like a four peaked baseball cap for cameras. As soon as the sun comes out I'll give it a go:-)

Already got a hoody ,Ba,attached to a fleece jacket,so I'm already prepared, and I do like to improvise ,as I used to watch Blue Peter....Hope your
cardboard one turns out ok,but don't go out in the rain...Lol.
