Last year I took 6 orphans off of my main Chinese Banana plant. Only 2 of those survived and the main stem, despite being in my proporgater over winter died and was just rotten inside. Just a couple of days ago some new side shoots : )

should come good so will protect it/them to the hilt over winter. I suspect maybe too much soil as I added a bit for food. I had given up on it and was taking soil from around the clump for small pots n cutting and this may have dried it our enough
