Don't worry, Homebird :) The mole is being a real nuisance this year and have travelled from the back garden into the front and is popping up through membrane and gravel :( Apparently this is the time of year for young ones to expand their territory so goodness knows what the garden will look like soon.

I am considering a humane trap (if there is one for moles) because it is beginning to get me down. There is waste ground just outside the village where it could be released. I was amazed to see a mole crossing the road recently - my daughter and I couldn't believe our eyes :)

not sure either if they do them Gee, watched a program on this man and son who set poison for farmers and even though they are pests i felt upset as they have the right to live to ,

That's my problem, Sanbaz, although I do moan when I walk down my path and all the slabs move under my feet! I keep telling myself they were here before me but it's not helping at the moment :)

I sympathise with you Gee, when an animal comes into your garden and does its thing, when there are acres of land outside for it to tunnel through, or make a den or whatever. Moles must have taken the place of hegehogs to cross the road.

I found a humane mole trap on Ebay so have sent off for one. It was under £3 so if it doesn't work I haven't lost much. Will let you know what happens!

I was thinking of exporting it to Ireland, Sanbaz, as I understand they don't have moles there and it would be wrong not to share, wouldn't it? !!!

Didn't someone on here recently say that ferret or cat poo down the holes helps to get rid of them?? I may have been dreaming though or it may have been for some other pest!

I bought a humane trap and sited it in the garden but a couple of days later forgot I had put it there and trod on it, it broke into several pieces! That seemed to be enough to scare Mr Mole off and, so far, he has not been back. I should think all this wet weather is making life very hard for them as their tunnels must get flooded. Our water table is very high here and today my lawns are under water :(
