My new raised bed.

This year we have built a raised bed for our veggies. We have Beetroot, peas, carrots, brussels, parsnips, lambs lettuce, rocket, oregano and red onions growing in it. Its earlish days yet, although we have used some of the oregano in soup. We also had a suprise when several potato plants started to pop through the soil, and then we realised the must have come from the home made compost we'd used before we added the top soil and shop bought compost. We are excited to see how things grow over the next month or two. Bye for now!

Sounds like the Jamie Oliver recipe. We like spuds too with olive oil, rosemary, garlic and plent of seasoning. Yum. Can't wait for mine to be ready. I'm just not 100% sure when I should pull them up? Do I wait for the leaves to die off????? I have tied the leaves together with some string today as they are dominating that side of the bed and I have rocket, carrots and peas growing under the leaves. I'm sure that will not harm. Thanks!

Well done, you :) (and I know what you mean about spuds popping up - just pulled some out of my compost heap :) I shally be roasting them off with fresh rosemary this evening - not bad a free din-dins from a bit of discarded potato peeling.)
A lovely looking raised bed by the way.
