Have just seen in a Spaldings catalogue a plant called.... 'Laburnocytisus Adamii'..... It has yellow and pink flowers, and has been created by drafting a Broom onto the stem of a Laburnam. It looks good enough to eat.

Your laburnum is a picture...my mother-in-law had one in her front garden and it does give a lovely splash of colour (as you say, for a short time....but it is ever so delightful).
