Cordyline Flower

Do these flower every year.

Its the first time its flowered Carol and its about 7 feet tall, we thought the hard Winter had killed it but then it sent this flower up. I dont know if it will flower every year, I hope so.

How different we all are as I can't abide the scent of these and have actually got OH to remove 5 of the lower ones ! Bees love them though !

The flowers pretty amazing to Dawn, didn't know they had a scent, never smelt one.

This is great yes they should come every year now Dawnsaunt as my son moved into a house which had these in his garden, does depend a lot on the weather how much they flower, as I recall last year all on here that had them said they had loads compared with years before.

I was looking at mine today Dawn.......aren't they great....and the bees love them!

Oh Dawn , we had friends in the garden the other evening there was this most awful smell it smelt of dogs ----- we couldn't escape it , we decided it must be the Cytisus battandieri because we were near it , I thought that was odd because that's usually a nice smell ... it wasn't until the next day I realized it was the Cordyline flower that was the culprit , I hadn't seen it on the top of the tree ... it's awful I only hope it dosn't last for long .. ....

Thanks for the info Six. Dotty, I cant describe the aroma Dotty, I dont find it unpleasant, strong though but unlike anything else. Oh Amy, Shirley, what a shame you dont like the smell.
