Gold Medalion Tree is one most common Cassia species grown as a street tree here in San Diego, CA and many other cities. It's fast growing, drought tolerant and has incredibly beautiful, fragrant golden flowers in summer. It's a Brazilian native tree which can grow to 60 feet/ 18 meter tall...however, is usually kept at only 20 - 25 feet as a street tree. Photo taken along the street in North Park, San Diego on July 2, 2010.

Grandmage:
This is one of the trees that lets us know when it's summer here. They started blooming in early May.

Beautiful! Now, this would be ideal for our garden theme - if we had the space and climate! :-))

This tree does well in a pot also. It will usually stay about 5 feet/ 1.5 in a pot and will bloom very young if given enough heat.

What a stunning display that would be to big for my garden though and my shed.

It can be kept small in a pot. Not sure how well it flowers (or if it flowers) in a pot, though.

I might look out for one then thank you Andy for letting me know it can be grown in a pot .

I would be surprised if it's available for sale there. I hope it is, though. It's typically sold as a landscape tree.

I thought I might not find one here such a shame but I will still keep my eye open.?
