I agree with you Sand. The Taxman should keep his hands in his pockets when its our heritage. Agree with Clarice too. I'm not old age yet, got 2yrs and 3mths to go. I'm not counting, honestly Lol. But I gave up work through choice about 18mnths ago, and I'll tell you, the time is flying by faster than you can imagine. I was self employed for almost 30yrs. and when need be, I'd be working stupid hours. Now I seem to have less time to myself than when I worked. :o)

glad you agree linda, i hear so many say how quick time goes when they retire, iv a bit to go yet, but feel in need of change, been doing hair to long now, would like to work with animals or plants, fed up with moaning ladies lol,
bet you wonder how you fitted everything in when you worked to ;o))

You're right there. I used to come home from work, tidy around, cook food, do a washing load ready to peg out next morning, washup, try and get into the garden etc etc. and managed to socialise. Now I'm home all day I struggle to fit everything in. As for needing a change, I was a florist, and thats how I was feeling. I just felt so fed up sometimes, and you start to think theres more to life than this, surely. Anton has a few health problems, and I decided I'd rather be home with him. :o)

Not much on the t.v. is there....better fun on GOY!

Agree with you there Karen. Never used a computer before joining GoY. Now I itch to see and read whats going on. Daughter keeps checking Facebook, and I made a comment about the time she spends on it sometimes, and the comment I had back was 'Look who's talking, only difference is, yours is called GoY!' ha ha. Thinking about you Sand, you may be lucky in a garden centre or maybe in a vet, as receptionist or even maybe like an 'auxillary' nurse, or something similar, maybe even in a kennels. I don't know, you may just think I'm wafffling on, but.... Both my Daughters have changed jobs. The eldest, had done accountancy since she left school. Decided she'd had enough and applied as an Occupational Therapist Assistant. Got the job, then decided she'd like to further herself, enroled in college, got accepted at University and did it part-time and graduated last year as an Occupational Therapist at the age of 37. The youngest, always worked in travel since leaving school, after giving birth to her Daughter, decided she was fed up and wanted a change. Enroled in college part-time doing access to health course. Got accepted at Uni and she's just finishing her 1st year as a Student Midwife. She was 34 last month. So it's never to late to do something, YOU would really like to do. My Mother always said,'If you enjoy work, it's a job. If you don't enjoy work it's a TASK'. :o)))

karen sure is better fun on GOY ;o))
linda being on here is theropy i tell you, talking about what we enjoy ;o))
thats great your daughters changing their jobs and even getting qualifications at uni or collage, good for them, im 50 and not sure about going to collage i hated classrooms, always one to be doing with my hands and being outside, so im looking for something, but no alot going at the moment, but your right never to late and im going to keep looking thanx ;o))

Funny thing is, the youngest, hated school, wouldn't take much of an excuse to stay home. She's quite the opposite now. ha ha.:o)
