We have a a fig tree and it has loads of fruit this year...

If the weather stays warm enough you may get to crops in one season.

Figs are commercially grown in California...generally 2 or 3 crops within one year are possible.

Yes, fig trees are very lush and grow very large in time. They are also a very long-lived tree, living for hundreds of years.

Weren't they the forbidden fruit...in the garden of Eden? The Emperor Augustus, when he thought someone was trying to poison his food...ate only the figs from the tree in his garden...so Livia (his wife) had to poison them while they were still on the tree.! Along with the date palm, and the mango, the fig has the most delicious fruit. Was looking at the pics of the huge leafed figs... incredible and edible!
