Dendrocalamus giganteus - Giant Tropical Bamboo (Dendrocalamus giganteus - Giant Tropical Bamboo)

This bamboo, native to Burma, may be the largest in the world. Its leaves can grow almost 2 feet long and 4 inches wide. Some of the stems are almost 90 feet/ 28 meters tall. Photo taken at Quail Botanical Gardens on July 6, 2010.
