Shady spot looking down into the garden

Shady spot looking down into the garden

Under the shade of Elizabeth and Broughton Star, they have joined forces now, hoping that they are going to climb into the Magnolia tree next to their frame.

This is gorgeous.....love it...just my type of garden....How old is it.... Barbara ?
I am looking for a piece for my garden, and I just love your Chess piece, am I right? What pieces I have at the moment are all gifts from friends gone now.
I want a piece in the main part of the garden, so its got to be fairly tall, or can sit on the stone Bird Table, that now can be seen since the huge Day Lily has been removed....I spy the Bird house in the distance, and I have just told my Hubby, our one waiting to be restored in the shed, has been there too long (smile).....The Flag Stone blends in so well, and I want to see where the path leads...
Where do you sit?......
Thankyou for sharing it.....

It is a work in progress - but I would say probably the last 10 years have seen the bulk of the work on the garden. We moved here 31 years ago but I then had two more girls and they kept me very very busy for a number of years, so it is only really since they grew up that I have had the time to work in the garden and develope it. Still at it, thank goodness there was a lot of grass to work on, started digging out small borders then made them bigger and bigger and longer and longer and just went a little bit mad with digging and planting. Love it and it helps me to keep fit. Have posted another picture for you to look at to see the ornaments etc. no chess pieces, but know what you mean, like the ornaments, the cat has a candle, haloween type pussy, have a couple of pot pumpkins also to hold candles, they are very effective on dark evenings. Try and sit and have our meals out most days at this time of year, quite a few benches and seats dotted around some just made from old bits of broken seats and stood on old breeze blocks and the slabs were recycled from the local council, when they dug up the paths I used the slabs, the paths all lead around the garden and out onto the lane, which is our driveway beyond the lane is an 80 acre wood, this cottage was the gamekeepers cottage many many years ago, very old bungalow, not ours - rented we have been lucky to be able to have such a beautiful old place to live in with lots of land around it and no neighbours to fall out with. I count myself as very very lucky.

Irt's a real summer garden isn't it....I suppose all gardens are to an extent, but yours seems to really reach it's height of colour and lushness in July/August. Looking really lovely....when's the open day then?

No not yet, can't open it up until it is perfect , rose border to plant, fish pond to clear, electrics to put in and top border has been taken over by a weed that stands about 5ft tall, and it really has taken it over, pink and very strong, will have to dig it out one of those with roots which seem to go on for ever. Have mentioned fundraising/open garden to the cricketers, but they were slightly merry at the time it was 10pm so they were well on there way too far gone to want to discuss fund raising days. Maybe this time next year, see how I feel about letting them loose in my lovely garden, Sarah says I am potty even to contemplate having them in my garden.

It certainly is a chiminea Stroller, have put in another shot of it from a different angle so that Crissue can see it better.
