Veronicastrum virginicum

Veronicastrum virginicum (Veronicastrum virginicum)

I have the white version of this stately plant, and found this one earlier this year. They do clump up well after a few years - this plant has about six stems at the moment.

This is very beautiful. The kind of plant I'll probably never grow, as I don't do herbaceous borders, but very beautiful and a wonderful colour.

I like both - the white ones and this pinky one. They're a good vertical shape in the borders, which is needed, of course.

Yes indeed, and even better if they don't need staking. btw it's miserable here, rain, rain, rain! I want my summer back!

Rain? What's that? None here...yet...we could do with it this evening for two reasons. One is the obvious, the other is a loud party going on across the lane...scheduled for all night and into tomorrow. If it rains, they'll have to be indoors! If not...no sleep in this house. :-(((((

Henry has already expressed his displeasure in the usual way!

Good old Henry! ONly one thing for it B....you'll need to go and join in!! Only joking, I can just imagine your expression at that suggestion!! ;)

They invited us....hmmm....I declined gracefully. I can hear the boom-boom noise from indoors...not the tune, of course. Ear plugs tonight!

:((

Definitely. I simply can't sleep with noise going on. :-((

Why not treat yourselves to a lovely country hotel night and have someone else cook your sunday breakfast for a change....

Not easy with Henry, especially as he 'could' have another fit at any time...nice idea, though. :-((

Fitting seems to be quite a common thing with labs...and dogs generally. We have a friend and neighbour who is a vet and his little border terrier also has fits. Poor Henry though, harder when they are older dogs I guess. You never know when it might happen and how they will be afterwards. Such a lovely dog he is too. Needless to say, no such difficulties with tough as old boots Molly the JR Terrier, whose fave game is having her feet trodden on, and if she accidentally gets kicked in the face thinks it is the best thing ever! When she was very small she was playing with a hard plastic ball and was having so much fun she never even flinched when she broke her nose! Cost us hundreds in x-rays! Then there was the bee sting that swelled up half her face and she was looking at me as if to say "what? what's wrong? Nothing bothering me at all"....mind you, she leaves those bees alone now so it must have hurt.... a bit! Bloomin dog...totally indestructible!

Oh but...forgot the worst/best bit....she is allergic to.....grass!!! lol

Never! I can't believe that! :-((((((

Ohh...Very nice...

They are lovely plants, Motinot. The white ones are almost out.
