your acers are growing well. I have seven different ones in pots and they seem to be doing well too. It's nice because they are small trees and if in tubs you can move them about if you want to. I give mine a prune back in December and make sure that the branches aren't growing across each other rubbing the bark off. WInter is the time when you can see the structure so you can adjust the shape.
