TODAY WE HAD THE COLDEST HIGH TEMP EVER RECORDED (IN 160 YEARS) IN JULY, IN DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO, CA. IT WAS ONLY 64 DEGREES F/ 18 DEGREES C...THIS TEMP IS LOWER THAN WHAT THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE SHOULD BE FOR THE DAY. I HAD TO SHOW A HOT TROPICAL TREE BLOOMING...EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FROM LAST SUMMER. LOL! PHOTO TAKEN JULY 26, 2009. BY THIS WEEKEND IT SHOULD WARM UP A GET BACK TO NORMAL SO WE CAN STOP FREEZING AND COMPLAINING. : > (

I'm so glad you're receiving warm and sunny weather...you really deserve it....so brag away. LOL!

Well, one good thing about all the cooler weather. We don't have to use all the fans (I usually have 5 going 24/7 for 9 months) nor air-conditioner.
We're suppose to start receiving the southeast monsoonal flow this weekend, which should bring warm to hot humid weather and thunderstorms in the mountians for the first time this year.

18???? Now that's a little cool!! Luckily in my part of the world, we only get a few days around the 18C during our Winter days ... only had one so far this particular Winter. Just got back from visiting my sons and grandchildren down in Brisbane and there was one day when it got down to 15C ... had to wear a jumper!!

Yesterday was 31 here, far too hot and sticky and a hose pipe ban threatening as well, today seems similar too, sitting by the fan here only way to keep cool!

18C is extremely cold for this time of year here. The normal high in January (winter) is 68F/ 20C. Usually we're experiencing what's called the "July Fry" due to the monsoonal flow.
15C sounds very cold for Brisbane. I bet everybody was bundled up in parkas. LOL!

31C is our average high here for inland San Diego where I live...and further inland the average highs are much hotter.

It's starting to warm up already...we started getting a slight monsoonal flow yesterday. By this coming week it's suppose to be back to normal temps...and by next weekend it'll be above normal temps.
Most of the Oxalis have died off already due to the typical super dry weather now. Oxalis is a serious weed problem only in winter.

I remember that and that year. San Diego was running cooler then San Jose up north. The June gloom lasted the whole summer and the San Fernando valley had a great summer of 85f days-lol..they didn't miss the 110's.

I know that same year in the San Francisco Bay Area was called the year without a summer...just like here in San Diego. It was due to the very strong La NiƱa.
However, with this being said; we did experience some very hot weather at the end of summer into fall.
The last several summers since this 2010 summer...it's been so very HOT! Right now we're experiencing very hot weather.
