How old is it Alexandra?

28 Sep, 2010

It's about nine years old Tommymoo. It only had five leaves when I bought it.

Yours had five leaves when you bough it...nearly the same size as mine, then! Thanks for your reply Alexandramou. You gave me hope. It'd be nice if mine would be big and healthy like yours in a decade.

LOL...I'm sure if your winter is better this year it will give you lots of new leaves next year. Mine skipped last year and I got worried but it made up for it.

I have to dig mine up, pot it and keep it indoors to overwinter. Mine is too young to leave it outdoors in winter. I learned it the hard way. Silly me, I didn't believe what was written in the label and left it in the garden and covered it with a plastic dome last winter. How I was shocked when I saw the dead leaves in December! I brought it indoors immediately, which saved its life. Anyway, I'm happy it's still alive :D

You know you could keep it in a pot all the time until it gets really big...Less work for you and better for the plant. Then you can post a picture of it as big as mine....I've seen some gorgeous ones with little babies on its sides....that's what I really want....

We are based in England and visit our place in France regularly but not too often. While we are in England, we have to ask a couple next to us to water our plants; that's the problem (they are both 80 years old!). Therefore, it's better to put as many plants as possible in the ground (especially in spring/summer) in order to lessen the neighbours' toil. People say we should organise some kind of watering system.. But.. :(
Maybe one day!

I see. Now it all makes sense. One day.
