It's a deep maroon - the camera hasn't caught the colour well.

Thanks. I bought a red Camellia 'Adolphe Audusson' to mark our Ruby wedding. I made a stupid mistake - the pot curves in at the top, so I might have to break it to repot the plant. :-(((((

Its quite fashionable at the moment to have broken pots laid on their sides and planted up with say a house leek. That way you will save both?
12 Jul, 2010
I don't particularly like that fashion, Denise - do you? It just looks like an accident to me. LOL. Anyway, it would have to be 'several' house leeks! ;-)

Yes I agree its a bit OTT

I haven't got room, anyway - Hmmmm....I could put it in the middle of the path - then it really 'would' look like an accident! LOL.

That is a lovely Astrantia, I sent for 2 this year from MT what a disappointment both were so tiny they have now disappeared altogether. Just like to say Harry and I are ahead of you all we had our Golden Wedding last November;0)

OH must be ahead of his time then, he has been planting things in broken pots for over 20 years, we used to get a lot broken by frost in the Midlands, and it was such a shame to throw them away.......I must tell him it is fashionable, he will laugh!!!
12 Jul, 2010
Ask him if the middle of the path is a good place, Dd! LOL.

David Austin does two roses `Silver Anniversary` and `Silver Wedding` Motinot. This Astrantia is on my wish list Spritz but I would like a nice garden statue for my Golden Anvsry. next year, and of course a new rose to stand it by.

Congratulations, Motinot! You're a mere young thing compared with us lot!! lol.
