These lovely little copper-coloured butterflies are also abundant in the garden right now....When I took this pic I didn't notice the brightly coloured beetle that was also visiting the flower at the same time....there's even a pollen beetle nestled at the front of the flower too!

Thank you all :-) I think this is one of the best pics I've ever taken of anything, and it was really no more than a lucky snap as I was wandering around the garden yesterday morning....
The camera is nothing special Janey, it's just a Panasonic DMC-FZ18, but it's the 18x zoom that allows me to get close-up's like this without disturbing the insects!

Mine is the same Ilex but the FZ28.....your photos really are amazingly clear...are you setting the camera yourself or using the intelligent auto?

I usually use the IE setting Janey, just so I can snap away as quickly and as frequently as possible.
