Pink climbing rose (Rosa)

Can anyone name this rose, It is pink but the middle of the flower is tinged with orange. Of course it might change as it opens out.

Hi...may I suggest a google? www.classicroses
came across some images that were similar...you might check out:
Evelyn May (2000), Hector Deane (1938), Lafter (1948), Leontine Gervais (1903) (the latter classed as a rambler) might also take a look at Belle Helene. Found one I especially like called "Thumbs Up (2006)" This has been fun...

yep i think i can Chris, it is always hard to gues the variety of a rose, but i would lay money on this being 'Abraham Darby' by none other than David Austin. i have one myself, have a look at it on my garden page, i have plenty of info for you too. does yours have a strong fuity fragrance? tall arching habit, tall bush/short climber? if so i think i have solved the mistry for ya!

Yes it has a fruity lemon like fragrance. I'm growing it as a climber since that is how it was sold. It is about 6 ft up the arch at the moment. This one not grown by David Autin since I bought it in Hungary with a Hungarian growers name I think, but the rose itself was not named.

thats interesting Chris, because 'Abraham Darby' is very much like it and the growing habbit and scent that you have discribed would also be consistant. i have mine as a bush, but on the DA web site it is discribed as a short climber/tall bush. did you check out the pictures that i have of mine, i think you will agree it is very close. and i know mine is 'Abraham Darby' as i bought it from the DA website. is it possible as it was unamed that it could have been bread from this one? i asked a question the other day about propergating DA roses, as was thinking about doing this for my ebay shop, but obvioulsy did'nt want to brake any rules, and was'nt sure about how copywrite laws work for this. and was told that you need to have the 'Rights' to do this, but as i understand it some plant sellers/growers get round this by selling them as 'red' rose 'pink' rose etc, and not naming the variety. it is ofcourse very naughty, and if they get caught out they can get in all sorts of trouble, but it happens. lol. well what ever the case maybe Chris it is a truely beautiful Rose, my advice would be enjoy!
