Roscoea cautleyoides (Roscoea cautleyoides (Roscoea))

An unusual plant - the flowers are a little like orchids!

Sadly, not very, Denise....about a week, I suppose. I've seen a purple one - it's on my wish list!

I 'think' it's actually a bulb or a small tuber, I'll have to look it up. Mr and Mrs MB would know, I suspect!

Ha - trust you!!!! You're lucky - I'll just have to get one now!!! ;-)

Do 'you' think they're tuberous/bulbous as well, Grindle?

21 Jul, 2010

Yes, for what it's worth, I think it's a tuber. Mine arrived as a tuber and I just stuck it in and it grew immediately!

I'll check my catalogue - they might possibly be in there.

tubers :-) I heard somewhere they split once they've finished flowering, trouble is I can't remember where I heard it (sorry)

Haven't had time to look, yet, but I might be able to get some from the autumn catalogue, which has come. Don't worry yourslf about the 'splitting' bit! LOL.

What else?

See who else is growing Roscoea cautleyoides (Roscoea).

See who else has plants in genus Roscoea.
